Born and reared in a Christian home, Pastor Thompson came to Christ at the early age of four years old. He is a native of Tampa graduating from East Bay High School in Riverview. Upon graduation from High School, Pastor Thompson began an eleven year career with the United States Air Force serving at several stations in America as well as over seas. It was during his time at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska, that he met and married his lovely wife, Vicki.
In 1996, Pastor Thompson’s life took a drastic turn as God called him to preach. On October 9, 1996 he surrendered his life to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastor Thompson laid aside his Air Force career and entered into the ministry full time. Pastor Thompson has pastored churches in Scottsmoor and Sarasota, Florida. From 2005-2009 Pastor Thompson served as Associate Pastor at West Gate Baptist Church and Florida Baptist College of Tampa, Florida. It was in August of 2009, however, that God opened the door for Pastor Thompson to come to Grace Baptist Temple. From August 2009 to June 2010, Pastor served as Co-Pastor along side Pastor Ruben Nance. On June 9, 2010, Pastor Nance retired after 36 years and Grace Baptist Temple called Pastor Thompson to be their Senior Pastor. Grace has experienced strong growth since 2010 under Pastor’s vision as well as several building and property renovations and additional paved parking.
Pastor Thompson has been married to his beautiful wife, Vicki, since 1992 and have two daughters, Alexis and Hannah. Pastor Thompson has been used of the Lord to preach in youth conferences, men’s conferences, marriage retreats, and revivals both nationally and internationally.
